Editorial Process

Academia International Research Journal (Multidisciplinary)

At Academia International Research Journal (Multidisciplinary), we maintain a transparent, ethical, and academically rigorous editorial process to ensure the publication of high-quality research that meets our standards of scholarly excellence and relevance across diverse disciplines. The editorial workflow from submission to publication is as follows:

  1. Manuscript Submission
Authors submit manuscripts through the official AIRJ submission portal:
    https://academia.edu.pk/index.php/AIRJ/
Submissions must comply with the journal’s formatting guidelines, referencing style, and ethical policies as outlined in the Author Instructions.

  2. Initial Screening and Plagiarism Check
Each manuscript undergoes preliminary evaluation to confirm:

  • Alignment with the journal’s multidisciplinary scope

  • Adherence to ethical standards, including research approvals and consent

  • Passing a plagiarism screening using recognized software (e.g., Turnitin)
Manuscripts exceeding a similarity index of 10% may be returned for revision or rejected.

  1. Editorial Assignment
Manuscripts that pass initial screening are assigned to an Associate Editor or Section Editor with expertise in the relevant discipline, who assesses the submission’s academic contribution and methodological quality.

  2. Double-Blind Peer Review
Qualified manuscripts enter a double-blind peer review process involving at least two independent reviewers. Reviews focus on:

  • Originality and contribution to knowledge

  • Methodological rigor and analytical soundness

  • Practical and theoretical relevance

  • Ethical compliance and clarity of presentation

  1. Reviewer Recommendations
Reviewers provide one of the following recommendations:

  • Accept

  • Minor revisions required

  • Major revisions required (revise and resubmit)

  • Reject

  1. Editorial Decision
The editor makes a final decision considering reviewers’ feedback. A decision letter, along with anonymized reviewer comments, is communicated to the corresponding author.

  2. Author Revisions
Authors must respond to reviewer comments and submit revised manuscripts within the specified timeframe. Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by reviewers or assessed directly by the editorial team.

  3. Final Acceptance
Manuscripts meeting the journal’s standards after revisions are formally accepted for publication.

  4. Copyediting and Proofing
Accepted manuscripts undergo professional copyediting for language, formatting, and style consistency. Authors receive proofs for final review prior to publication.

  5. Online Publication
Final articles are published online in the forthcoming issue and are made available open access under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) license.

  6. Post-Publication Promotion
AIRJ promotes published research through indexing in academic databases, social media channels, email newsletters, and collaborations with academic networks. Authors are encouraged to disseminate and cite their work to enhance its scholarly impact.
