Correction & Retraction Policy

1. Purpose of Corrections

ANMJ is dedicated to maintaining the accuracy, credibility, and transparency of the scholarly record. Corrections are issued when published content contains genuine errors that could affect interpretation, data clarity, or academic understanding. These corrections preserve trust in management research and uphold the journal’s editorial integrity.

2. Types of Corrections

  • Erratum (Publisher-Initiated):
Issued when errors arise during editorial or publication processes (e.g., formatting mistakes, incorrect references or figures) that do not affect the core findings of the article.

  • Corrigendum (Author-Initiated):
Issued when authors identify substantive post-publication errors impacting clarity, interpretation, or presentation but not compromising the validity of the research.

3. Correction Procedure

  • Error Detection:
Errors may be identified by authors, readers, editors, or peer reviewers.

  • Editorial Evaluation:
The editorial board assesses the nature and impact of the error on the study’s integrity and conclusions.

  • Issuing a Correction:
Where appropriate, a correction notice is published and linked to the original article, ensuring transparency without altering the original publication.

4. Visibility and Indexing

Correction notices are:

  • Published prominently on the journal’s website

  • Linked directly to the original article

  • Indexed in academic databases (e.g., CrossRef, Google Scholar) to ensure discoverability and record integrity

Retraction Policy

1. Purpose of Retractions

Retractions are issued to withdraw published work found to be scientifically invalid or ethically compromised. This protects the academic record and prevents dissemination of flawed research.

2. Grounds for Retraction

  • Research Misconduct:
Proven plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or misrepresentation.

  • Ethical Violations:
Lack of required ethical approval, undisclosed conflicts of interest, or unauthorized use of human/animal data.

  • Critical Errors:
Major methodological or analytical flaws rendering results unreliable and not correctable via erratum or corrigendum.

3. Retraction Procedure

  • Investigation:
The editorial board conducts an internal review, possibly consulting reviewers, co-authors, or institutional bodies.

  • Editorial Decision:
Following COPE guidelines, a final decision on retraction is made.

  • Retraction Notice:
A formal notice explaining the reason for retraction is published. The original article remains online but is clearly marked as “RETRACTED” for transparency.

4. Indexing and Transparency

Retraction notices are:

  • Publicly accessible

  • Indexed in relevant databases

  • Cross-linked to the retracted article

5. Ethical Governance

ANMJ follows ethical publishing standards recommended by:

  • Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)

  • Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan

All corrections and retractions are handled with fairness, impartiality, and academic responsibility.
