Abstract

Humanitarian crisis in individual areas of conflicts is one of the most dangerous issues to international peace, security, and human dignity. The research paper aims to examine the critical nature of international organizations in managing humanitarian crisis cases in war-torn countries. It examines the strategies, interventions and collaborative mechanisms used by iternational organizations, that is, the United Nations (UN), International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and other international/non-governmental agencies. The paper is in the context of how such organizations contribute to emergency relief, safeguarding human rights, and recovering and stabilizing after the conflict. The study through its qualitative research design utilizes document analysis and case studies of chosen areas of conflicts to determine the effectiveness and limitations, as well as coordination effectiveness of international humanitarian response. The results show that international organizations play an important role in reducing the human suffering but they are normally limited by political interference, the lack of sufficient resources and security issues. The paper concludes that sustainable humanitarian outcomes in conflict environments can only be achieved through increased cooperation, transparency and capacity-building between international actors.
