Open Access Policy

Open Access Commitment

All articles published in ACADEMIA Biota Nexus Journal (ABNJ) are made freely and permanently available online without subscription fees, paywalls, or access charges. This open-access model promotes the democratization of knowledge and ensures that published research reaches a global readership, regardless of institutional affiliation or geographic location.

All journal content is published under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0).

Under this license, users are permitted to read, download, copy, and share full-text articles for non-commercial purposes, provided proper attribution is given to the original authors and the journal. Modification, adaptation, remixing, or redistribution of altered content is not permitted. This licensing approach safeguards the authenticity and integrity of scholarly work while enabling wide dissemination.

Open Archiving Policy

ABNJ is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of its published content. All articles are securely archived through recognized open-access repositories and digital preservation systems to ensure permanent availability.

These include institutional repositories, subject-specific archives, and trusted digital preservation platforms such as LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, and the PKP Preservation Network. These measures ensure continued access to published research regardless of technological changes or platform availability.

Proper citation of the original source and a link to the official ABNJ publication are required when archived material is accessed or referenced.

Self-Archiving and Author Rights

ABNJ fully supports green open access and encourages authors to self-archive their work.

Authors are permitted to archive the following versions of their manuscripts:

  • Preprint version (before peer review)

  • Postprint version (after peer review and acceptance, before final layout)

  • Final published version (official PDF from the ABNJ website)

Self-archiving may be done on personal academic websites, institutional repositories, or disciplinary and scholarly networks. No prior permission from the journal is required, provided that full citation details and a direct link to the official ABNJ version are included.

Ethical Standards and Quality Compliance

ABNJ adheres to internationally recognized standards of ethical publishing and editorial integrity. The journal follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), implements a transparent double-blind peer-review process, and requires disclosure of conflicts of interest. Authors are held accountable for research integrity, originality, and ethical compliance.

The journal also complies with the policies and quality standards of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and aligns with best practices required by international indexing and abstracting services.

By upholding robust open-access, archiving, and ethical standards, ACADEMIA Biota Nexus Journal (ABNJ) ensures the credibility, visibility, and long-term impact of the research it publishes, contributing meaningfully to global scientific knowledge in biodiversity, ecology, biotechnology, and environmental sciences.
