Eastern Philosophy as a Solution to Modern Socio-Political Challenges

Abstract

This Study explores how the principles of Right Livelihood and other aspects of Buddhist philosophy can apply to the present socioeconomic issues of corruption, exploitation, and inequality. Historical Buddhist texts such as The Dhammapada and Anguttara Nikaya, professorial and novelist opinions in conversation, and current scholarly literature are interwoven throughout this presentation. It focuses on how relationship, virtue-based leadership, and mindfulness transform one. A good study illustrates that Right Livelihood promotes social justice, human concern, and well-being above all ethical livelihoods. The implication would be that publicity campaigns, counseling, and schooling can likewise mitigate the practices that are in fact driven by institutional corruption and greed. These policies, supported by programs such as the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS), go in line with the principles of Buddhism to make moral leadership in social change more possible. It is in such a context that the study highlights timeless Buddhist ideas for bringing harmony, sustainability, and justice into contemporary institutions.
