Abstract

Climate change has increasingly required shifts in everyday behavior, yet sustainable lifestyle practices often depend not only on awareness but also on social influence and individual confidence to act. This study examined the role of climate change awareness and eco-friendly social norms in shaping sustainable lifestyle practices through green self-efficacy. A quantitative research design was used, and data were collected through a structured questionnaire from young adults and community respondents. The study focused on sustainable practices such as energy conservation, reduced plastic use, recycling, responsible consumption, and environmentally friendly transport choices. The findings indicated that higher climate change awareness was associated with stronger sustainable lifestyle practices, while eco-friendly social norms encouraged individuals to adopt environmentally responsible behaviors. Green self-efficacy further strengthened this relationship by increasing individuals’ confidence in their ability to perform sustainable actions. The study contributed to climate behavior research by highlighting the importance of awareness, social pressure, and self-belief in promoting sustainable living.
