Correction & Retraction Policy

Correction Policy

1. Purpose of Corrections

The Academia International Journal of Engineering and Intelligent Computing (AIJEIC) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, clarity, and integrity of the scientific record. Corrections are issued to ensure that published research remains reliable, particularly in fields such as engineering and intelligent computing, where findings may influence technological development and real-world applications.

2. Types of Corrections

Erratum (Publisher-Initiated)
Issued when errors occur during the publication process (e.g., formatting issues, figure misplacement, or metadata inaccuracies) that do not affect the overall conclusions of the study.

Corrigendum (Author-Initiated)
Issued when authors identify significant errors after publication (e.g., in data, methods, or interpretation) that may affect understanding but do not invalidate the research findings.

3. Correction Procedure

Error Identification
Errors may be reported by authors, editors, reviewers, or readers.

Editorial Assessment
The editorial team evaluates the nature and impact of the error and determines the appropriate corrective action.

Implementation
A formal correction notice is published and linked to the original article. The original article remains unchanged unless the correction is critical to interpretation.

4. Visibility and Indexing

All corrections are:

  • Clearly labeled and linked to the original article

  • Indexed in relevant scholarly databases for transparency

  • Freely accessible and permanently available

Retraction Policy

1. Purpose of Retractions

Retractions are issued when a published article is found to be fundamentally flawed or unethical. This ensures that unreliable findings do not mislead researchers, practitioners, or policymakers in the fields of engineering and intelligent computing.

2. Grounds for Retraction

Research Misconduct
Includes plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or unethical authorship practices.

Ethical Violations
Includes lack of required ethical approvals or undisclosed conflicts of interest.

Critical Errors
Significant methodological flaws or misinterpretations that invalidate the study’s conclusions.

3. Retraction Process

Investigation
AIJEIC conducts a thorough review of the case. Authors and, where necessary, their affiliated institutions may be contacted.

Editorial Decision
Decisions are made in accordance with established publishing ethics guidelines. If misconduct or major errors are confirmed, the article will be retracted.

Retraction Notice
A formal retraction notice is published, clearly stating the reason for retraction. The original article is marked as “RETRACTED” and remains accessible for transparency.

4. Transparency and Indexing

All retracted articles and notices are:

  • Clearly marked in all formats

  • Freely accessible

  • Indexed in bibliographic and citation databases

Ethical Governance

AIJEIC adheres to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and follows academic publishing standards established by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan. The journal is committed to maintaining ethical practices, transparency, and integrity in all aspects of publication.
