Author Appeals Policy

Author Appeals Policy

AJIEIC ensures a transparent and equitable editorial process in engineering, intelligent computing, and applied technology research. While peer review maintains quality and technical rigor, authors may appeal editorial decisions under defined conditions.

1. Valid Grounds for Appeal

Appeals may be submitted if authors believe:

  • Misinterpretation of technical content, methodology, or data influenced the decision

  • Reviewer feedback contained factual or technical inaccuracies affecting the outcome

  • Evidence exists of reviewer/editorial bias, conflict of interest, or procedural errors

❗ Appeals based only on disagreement with reviewers’ opinions without evidence are not considered.

2. Submitting an Appeal

Timeframe: Appeals must be submitted within 20 days of the decision. Exceptions considered only under extraordinary circumstances.

Submission Format: Submit a written appeal to the Editor-in-Chief via:
https://academia.edu.pk/index.php/Journals

The appeal should include:

  • Detailed explanation of grounds for appeal

  • References to reviewer/editorial comments

  • Supporting evidence or corrected technical data

  • (Optional) Revised manuscript with a detailed response to reviewer comments

3. Appeal Review Process

Initial Assessment: Editor-in-Chief reviews all documents, including reviewer reports. Input may be requested from the original handling editor or additional board members.

Further Evaluation: May involve:

  • Reconsulting original reviewers

  • Inviting independent reviewers with no prior involvement

  • Consulting a neutral board member or technical ethics advisor

Final Decision: The outcome may include:

  • Upholding the original decision

  • Inviting revision and resubmission

  • Acceptance of the manuscript (with or without revisions)

Written explanation provided to the author.

4. Appeal Limitations

  • Only one appeal per manuscript

  • Submission does not guarantee decision change

  • Repetitive or baseless appeals will be rejected

5. Ethical Considerations

If ethical issues are raised—bias, conflicts, procedural violations—they are referred to AJIEIC Ethics Committee. Corrective steps may include reassigning editors or formal investigations under COPE standards.

6. Communication and Timeline

  • Acknowledgment: Within 5 business days

  • Resolution: Typically 4–8 weeks, depending on complexity and reviewer availability

AJIEIC maintains fairness and technical integrity in evaluating appeals while upholding publication quality.
